Imola Sprints (somewhat) smooth Audi Sport Italia ride in domestic GT3
• Alessandro Bracalente, Nano Lopez stage nice comeback race on Saturday, whereas Sunday has in store electrical trouble that translates in DNF
The next-to-last rounds of the Italian GT3 Sprint staged at Imola proved a race against time for Emilio Radaelli’s team, after the unfortunate Mugello Endurance trip had forced the staff to work overtime before heading to historic Santerno venue. Alessandro Bracalente and ‘Nano’ Lopez made the most of their R8 LMS built nearly from scratch pulling off a brilliant rally from P14 in Race 1, claiming their second 2025 Top 10 finish and missing their maiden GT3 Pro-Am podium by a whisker.
After the convincing rally Saturday afternoon, hopes were high on Sunday morning, since the No. 21 Audi was set to start one row ahead of the day before. Unfortunately the young Argentinian ended early his effort on the starting grid due to an electrical issue that prevented him and Bracalente from continuing their pursuit. The team staff, returning to the workshop in the ouskirts of Novara will work to fully identify and fix the cause of Race 2’s problem.
